Mr. Marcelo Luciano “Cheo” Zimmerman

Mr. Marcelo Luciano “Cheo” Zimmerman, born in 1964, started boxing at Boca Boxing Club. He went to Venezuela to develop more at “Instituto Nacional de Boxeo”, when he was 19.

On the age of 14 he boxed his first bout. After 20 amateur bouts (19 wins and 1 loss), Cheo went professional. He competed 26 years long (from his 14 till 40) in Curaçao, Aruba, St Maarten, Venezuela, Anguila and The Netherlands. His pro-boxing record is 24 wins and 6 losses.
Cheo became champion of the Dutch Kingdom, the Antilles, Caribbean, Interamerican and UBC World Champion in the super middleweight division.

December 2021, Cheo reopened Boca Boxing Club and together with his brother Nel Zimmerman and Jaire Antonia, he started serving the community by training (young) people completely free of charge.

March 29, 2025, Cheo will organize a boxing event where his pupils will also come in action.

February 1, 1992 Cheo Zimmerman won title of the Dutch Kingdom vs Gilbert Hallie (Netherlands).

June 2, 2001 Cheo Zimmerman won Caribbean title vs Ken Sharpe (Trinidad & Tobago).

November 9, 2002 Cheo Zimmerman won UBC (Universal Boxing Council) title vs Diosmel Anaya (Colombia).

April 2, 2005 Last fight at the age of 40, Cheo Zimmerman lost Curaçao title vs Renato Haseth (World Champion Muay-Thai).
